ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks and id Software, has added another developer to its stable. Today they announced that they've purchased Tango Gameworks, the company founded by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.
Mikami will remain at Tango as creative lead. The amount ZeniMax paid him for ownership is unknown. According to the LA Times, ZeniMax raised $150 million earlier this year from Providence Equity Partners so they were clearly able to spend big.
Tango Gameworks was officially founded earlier this year. No projects have been officially announced by the company. Mikami recently directed Platinum Games' Vanquish and is collaborating with Goichi Suda and Grasshopper Manufacture on Shadows of the Damned.
