With a commercial that takes obvious swipes at the popular Mario Kart series, Blur is entering the arcade, multiplayer racing market with a vengeance. Activision’s aim to dethrone Mario as the leader in power-up based racing could very well come true now that Blur is available.

Gareth Wilson, lead designer at Bizarre Creations commented in the press release, stating…
“Our focus for Blur is to bring the ‘fun’ back to racing and create the most electrified, action-packed racer to date,” … “With 20 cars on track at the same time in multiplayer, a first for the racing genre, along with an arsenal of Power-Ups, every race is an unpredictable fight to the finish.”

Featuring more than 50 licensed cars, action-packed power-ups, four-player split-screen, car damage, and up to 20 racers all battling it out on the track at once, you have to admit that Blur is a super kick-butt racing game that could revitalize the genre.

The game is currently available at local retailers for $59.99 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. For more info be sure to visit the Official Website.
