Subscribe To Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Turns Into Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex Updates
Scratch the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare name off your to-do list for noteworthy Wii games to buy this year. Why would you do this? Well, because it’s no longer called that anymore.

The news flash comes straight from Electronic Theatre who talked with Nintendo and Activision reps to clarify on the name change. Despite the game releasing alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, the Wii release for CoD: Modern Warfare will no longer be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare but rather, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex.

According to Electronic Theatre
It is not yet known as to why Activision Blizzard have decided to revise the title so slightly, but Electronic Theatre will update you as soon as we hear more.
The initial decision to remove the Call of Duty moniker from the forthcoming Modern Warfare 2, before issuing a retraction, has been widely publicised. It's evident that the reversal was for fears that the public would not associate the latest release with the popular Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and so Electronic Theatre predicts that this name change for the Wii release has also been the effect of marketing design.

Maybe they felt that many gamers would see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the $49.99 price tag and assume that the retailer is just trying to pull a fast one. In some ways, the Modern Warfare: Reflex name at least acknowledges that the game is late but new to Wii gamers…especially for those who don’t follow gaming news very often.
