Another potential nominee for the Coolest Game Trailers of 2009 is Ubisoft’s recent “West was Won” trailer for Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. It’s not quite a launch trailer but it certainly gets you in the mood for pistol whipping some fops and unloading lead on unsuspecting bandits.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is the sequel to the nominal yet fair selling first-person shooter of 2007, Call of Juarez. The sequel looks like Ubisoft had some spit-shine added to the overall design to give it a more polished feel and atmospheric depth. More weapons, deeper story and more physics-based destruction is all available in this FPS westerner, and it’s due out on June 30th for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3.
The following trailer, as mentioned in the first paragraph, is an easy contender for being one of the best video game trailers of 2009. The video gives a sparse overview of the story while incorporating all kinds of snazzy production effects into the mix. Gamers get to see how some of the slow-mo features work, what the duels will be like (sort of) and a look at some of the main characters featured in the game.
