Atari announced today that they've finished Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and it's gone gold. The game will arrive as planned on April 7th in North America and April 24th worldwide for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Assault On Dark Athena is a extended, HD remake of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay from 2004. The game includes an 11-hour single-player campaign as well as six multiplayer modes. The two multiplayer modes highlighted in Atari's press release are called Pitch Black and Butcher Bay Riot. In a Pitch Black match, a team of five mercenaries must find another player (controlling Riddick) using their weapon-mounted flashlights. Butcher Bay Riot pits three teams of four players against each other in an effort to acquire a power cell.

A single-player demo is currently available for the PS3 and 360 versions of the game. It features the "Athena Main Decks" level of the full game and allows players a chance to try their hand at controlling a Drone.
