Soon the DS Lite will be the third oldest DS model on the market. However, Nintendo isn't ready to kick it to the curb.

“Our current plans are to continue manufacturing Nintendo DS Lite globally,” a Nintendo spokesperson told MCV. The spokesperson added that the model's sales "remain strong" despite being nearly four years old.

“That said, it is true that our key focus in the UK for 2010 will be the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL.”

The DSi XL, marketed as the DSi LL in Japan, is a larger DSi model with a wider screen. It arrived in Japan in November and is set to hit Europe on March 5th. A North American release date has not been announced yet.
