Capcom announced via a blog post that a remake of a cancelled 8-bit NES version of Dark Void (entitled Dark Rift) will be making its return to the Nintendo DSi. And yes, the game will still embody the likes of an NES game…smeary graphics, bleeding colors and all.

According to the blog post…
Nearly twenty years later the next gen version of the game, Dark Void, is back on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC! But to commemorate the game’s humble origins, Capcom has commissioned this recreation of the original 8-bit classic, now re-titled “Dark Void Zero,” on the DSi platform.

Players will assume the role of Rusty (and not Will, like in the new game) and as the first human born in the Void, he must defeat the Watchers and save humanity. It’s more-so a cheap way to help promote the home console version of the game, given the huge popularity of the DS brand of handhelds.

You can learn more about Dark Void Zero by visiting the Official Capcom Blog. For more information on the PS3/Xbox 360 version of the game, be sure to visit the Official Dark Void Website.
