Final Fantasy XV Character Names And Voice Actors May Have Been Leaked

In the world of video games, it’s tricky to keep anything under wraps for too long. Something as simple as an actor’s bio or games page on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB), for instance, might inadvertently reveal something about an upcoming game before the developer is ready to make an official announcement. And that’s exactly what happened recently with Final Fantasy XV.

The folks over at Gameranx stumbled upon this little tidbit yesterday, originally posted on NeoGAF.

While there aren’t a heck of a lot of details concerning Final Fantasy XV’s characters and plots just yet, what we do know for sure is that we’ve never heard of characters by the name of Crowe or Weskham Armaugh. Those are a couple of the character names that recently popped up on the FFXV IMDB page, with actors Alexa Kahn and D.C. Douglas attached to them, respectively. Also listed is Emily Roya O’Brien as Y’Shtola and Greg Berg as characters Gregory, Elegan Gentleman and Impudent Tourist. Okay, so that last one probably isn’t a collection of super important characters but, still, details.

As the first poster on NeoGAF is quick to point out, IMDB, like most of these internet encyclopedias, is largely user updated and then checked for accuracy. There’s no guarantee that these characters or the actors tied to them are accurate.

As the original story points out, D.C. Douglas has already announced that he is working on Final Fantasy XV, but he has not named a character or anything like that. Given that his most notable role is that of Resident Evil’s Albert Wesker, you wouldn’t be blamed for raising an eyebrow to the fact that his supposed FFXV character’s name, Weskham Armaugh, is kind of similar.

And here’s another interesting detail: The name “Y’shtola” is not unknown to the realm of Final Fantasy. Anyone who has played Final Fantasy XIV will recognize Y’shtola from the popular MMORPG as the white-haired, bunny-eared lady who is handy with magic. She’s also set to appear in Dissidia, the Final Fantasy-themed fighting game currently only available in Japanese arcades.

Assuming the IMDB listing is accurate, are we looking at a surprise appearance from a different game in Final Fantasy XV or is Square Enix making some sort of unknown connection between two characters by having them share the same name? Obviously, we have no clue at this point.

Luckily, E3 is just around the corner, which is when we expect Square Enix to finally reveal some more details concerning Final Fantasy XV. Maybe these characters and related actors are accurate or maybe someone jumped the gun. Either way, we’ll just have to wait to find out.
