Five Nights At Freddy's World Screenshots Introduce Friends And Foes

Scott Cawthon unleashed a bevy of screenshots for the upcoming turn-based role-playing game, Five Nights at Freddy's World. The screenshots showcase some brand new characters not seen before in any previous Five Nights at Freddy's game, as well as some new gameplay mechanics.

Siliconera took notice of the screenshots after they were posted over on IndieDB, where some gamers have resolved to spend their time voting for Five Nights at Freddy's World as the Game of the Year, even though the title isn't even out yet.

Anyway, the screenshots feature new characters and new locations that players will visit in Scott Cawthon's upcoming JRPG-inspired title.

One of the images feature the Ballboy enemies, a rather jolly set of fellows who appeared in what Siliconera calls a “troll game” labeled Five Nights at Freddy's World: Halloween Edition. This is my first time seeing the Ballboys and the image appears with a blur effect around the balls. That kind of post-processing is usually used for objects that move. So it might be safe to assume that the Ballboy enemies are juggling the balls while engaged in the turn-based battle system.

We salso see that there are different versions of the Five Nights at Freddy's characters on the player's side. A slightly damaged Freddy, Chica and Foxy are facing off against the Ballboys, where-as in another screenshot we see a slightly more lean Chica, a fixed Freddy and two different versions of Bonnie in the battle screenshots.

As mentioned in previous articles, players will have a large cast of animatronic characters at their disposal, including the fixed and happy versions of Freddy and his friends, all the way to the Nightmare versions of Freddy and his friends from Five Nights at Freddy's 4.

Also, it's worth mentioning that this is not a horror game. The characters and scenarios are supposed to be lighter fanfare, presumably for younger audiences.

Part of the overworld for Five Nights at Freddy's World is also revealed, indicating that players will venture to various locations outside of the typical pizzeria that the series is known for. The graphics for the overworld are also noted by Siliconera as being equivalent to the graphics in the mini-games that were present in some of the previous Five Nights at Freddy's games.

One of the more intriguing screenshots, however, is one that features a menu screen with different chipsets for the player's animatronic party members. The chipsets appear to work as runes, talents or buffs in other games. For instance there's a chip for Freddie that allows him to enact “Fury”, and there's a chip that allows a character “Mimic” another character. It appears as if the chips are broken down into categories relating to their effects. So green chips are buffs and status modifiers, where-as yellow chips are buffs and trait power-ups, and red chips appear to be special chips that can perform some sort of special action.

Five Nights at Freddy's World is due for release on PC in 2016.
