Hellraid Is Hundreds Of Hours Long, Says Techland

Techland has sent out additional screenshots from their first-person hack-and-slash game Hellraid. They've also released a new FAQ outlining the basic features of the co-op adventure.

In Hellraid, players battle the forces of hell including skeletons, demons and more. They'll wield melee and ranged weapons, along with magic. Techland says that players will be able to be able to choose from four character classes (Paladin, Rogue, Warrior, Mage) with unique skill trees and customize them to their liking.

"Players can customize their weapons using an advanced crafting system or change their combat capabilities and appearance with armor that can be bought in shops, traded between the players or found during the game," said Techland in the FAQ)

In single-player, players will complete story missions, optional side quests and gather up tons of loot. Co-op is pretty much the same, except that players will also be striving to outperform each other. The top performers will be rewarded with experience, items, and more.

Hellraid's Game Master feature will add a bit of unpredictability to each session. Quests, enemies, loot and co-op challenges will all be randomized. Techland says that the game will offer "hundreds of hours" of entertainment as a result of this randomization, which is a pretty lofty claim. They don't mention how long, say, a single play-through of the campaign will be.

Techland will release Hellraid on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later this year.
