Bless you, United States Patent and Trademark Office. You're always offering up interesting things to talk about. This week, the Saul Zaentz Company filed a trademark for a game called The Lord of the Rings: War in the North.

The application, spotted by superannuation, doesn't reveal much about War in the North. The Saul Zaentz Company owns the worldwide exclusive rights to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. They have a standing agreement with Warner Bros. over the video game rights so Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is probably going to be the publisher on whatever this game is.

This is the second LOTR game to be revealed since Electronic Arts lost the license. The first was Aragon's Quest, which was formally announced for the Wii, DS, PS2, and PSP in May.

Update (March 18th): Warner Bros. Interactive official announced the game. Read about it here.
