A new Japanese trailer has become available for public viewing, and it features a brief look at the space team that accompanies Samus on a few of her missions. Unlike previous Metroid games where Samus just kind of floated around space like a female Boba Fett, Team Ninja is taking a sturdier and forceful approach to the story that’s more solidified in something that gamers can get attached to.

Instead of having nameless nobodies lurking around to be picked off, there’s actually a believable team that makes up for the Galactic Federation in Metroid Other M. It’s obvious not all of them will make it to the game’s end, but it looks like the game will finally be mature enough in its story to be taken serious amongst gamers who have graduated from their teens.
