Rockstar Games revealed today that they're set to release downloadable content for Midnight Club: Los Angeles featuring the South Central district. Even if you don't want to pony up cash for all the premium features, you'll still be able to pick up the new map expansion for free.

The free portion of the DLC expands the map of Midnight Club: LA by a third. The new area includes four neighborhoods in total and will be available for both PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. Downloading this free expansion will allow you to race online against gamers who buy the premium package.

The "South Central Premium Upgrade" will cost $10 (800 Microsoft Points) and add the following features:

• Nine new vehicles: 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG “Black”, 2008 Range Rover Supercharged, 2008 Range Rover Sport Super Charged, 1955 Chevy Bel Air, 1963 Buick Riviera, 1964 Chevy Impala, 1965 Chevy Malibu, 1970 Chevy Chevelle, 1966 Pontiac GTO
• 26 new races
• 12 new battle maps
• 10 new delivery missions
• 100+ new red light races
• New rims
• New body kits for each new car
• New vinyl pre-sets
• Hydraulics/Airbags unlocked on all new cars
• New music

The free map expansion and the premium features will be available on PSN and Xbox Live on March 12th.
