Want to feel really old really fast? Think back to the first time you punched Soda Popinski right in the glaven and come to the startling realization that you were actually 20 years younger back then. And despite the comb over that you think nobody notices or the fact that no one even ATTEMPTS to card you anymore, you can’t hide from the fact that, yes, you’re really that old. Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! has officially become the place marker of your life.

But it’s not all bad, right? Well, yeah, it is, but still, think of all the great memories you had with that game. Remember the first time you showed Mr. Sandman who was REALLY boss? Or what about when you discovered that when King Hippo opened his mouth, it meant that it was fist time from your arm to his face? Still not satisfied? Okay, remember the time you actually faced Mike Tyson for the title belt? I’m talking about before he was convicted of rape and the game lost its Mike moniker, and forced you to tussle with Mr. Dream instead. Yeah, you remember now. Remember how one uppercut from the high voiced one would land you to matsville with Mario flashing his fingers in front of your eyes in a hazy daydream while you struggled to get back up?

That’s what Punch-Out!! was all about—Mike Tyson and button pounding—and to commemorate one of the most memorable games of all time, for the umpteenth occasion, I’m going to make a call for Lil’ Mac to make a guest appearance in Super Smash Bros Brawl, as come on, how cool would that be?

And besides, you can’t say Smack Down without the word “Mac.”
