The Creative Assembly might collaborate with Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson on the next Total War game. They say that the Swedish designer could make an appearance in the game.
"Been talking to @notch today about him hopefully coming over for mocap for the next @totalwar game. Would be sweet :D," tweeted Total War community manager Craig Laycock.
Notch actually chatted with the developers over Twitter so we could see the exchange. Said Persson: "It's going to feature fat guys sitting around a lot and grunting when they finally do stand up? 'cause if it does, I'm DOWN! YEAH!! Assuming schedule works out and all that. When? Where? How?"
In the Total War games, players take on the role of rulers vying for dominance. They must raise armies, manage their territories, engage in diplomacy, and direct their troops in battle. Presumably Notch could play the role of some statesman in the game. If you see a warlord wearing a black fedora, you know who did the motion capturing.
Creative Assembly has yet to announce their next Total War game. They released Total War: Shogun 2 on the PC last year. Total War Battles: Shogun, the first mobile installment in the series, arrived on iOS in April.
Notch, meanwhile, has transitioned from Minecraft to a new project called 0x10c. 0x10c is a space exploration game said to be very early in development.
