Ever wondered what the general story was behind Scorpion and his awesomeness? Well, a new trailer was released featuring the flaming one and just how he came to be. The video is quite short and moderately violent, but one thing is for sure: this new Mortal Kombat looks like a blast to play.

The developers seemed to have done something that all the newer generation Mortal Kombats failed to do….get with the times! The movements, animations, move-transitions and special attacks look really smooth and exceptionally fun to use this time around, as opposed to the almost cardboard box motions depicted from the fighters in the previous, atrocious MK outing, Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe.

You can check out the new trailer for Scorpion below or head on over to the Official Website to learn more about Mortal Kombat. The game is set for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.
