NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 wasn't one of those games that came onto the scene in a blaze of glory and ended up on store shelves with fireworks and explosions. However, it doesn't mean that the game isn't interesting, unique and different from a lot of other shooters out there. For those willing to try something new, NPPL is currently available for you to do so.

“NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 is the fantastic end result of a close collaboration between the NPPL, Activision, and top professional paintball players,” said Scott Pierce, NPPL CEO. “No paintball game has ever been this real – it masterfully captures the competitive intensity that makes paintball one of the most popular extreme sports in the world.”

NPPL features real-life gear, tournaments and locations. The game also uses an RPG-esque skill system for players to upgrade their character as they progress through the game, which is pretty cool for a shooter-hybrid.

“NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 is a blast for both paintball fanatics and first person action fans looking for something fresh,” said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. “We’re ecstatic to redefine the paintball experience in videogames."

It seems like that quote above might be true, given that the game will also come jam packed with multiplayer modes, an advanced ballistics system, and state-of-the-art motion-capturing for player movements. This could be one of the most under-rated action games of the year. However, only a through review would be able to determine that for sure. The game is currently available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii. You can visit the Official NPPL Game Website for more information, or stay tuned in with Blend Games for an upcoming review of the game.
