The new trend in next-generation gaming is obviously gaming without consoles. Another new service that will work as a pseudo-console/gaming rig will allow gamers to play the latest and greatest games on entry level PCs, Macs and televisions.

Seems crazy right? Well, not really. The games are actually being played from dedicated rigs specifically set up to play high-end games for PC and from current-gen consoles. Players are basically just tapping into the service and playing the latest and greatest when they become available. With that said, I’d hate to see the operating bill for the servers and bandwidth fees for running Onlive.

GameTrailers has an exclusive interview up and available for viewing (which we also have below) so gamers get to see (and hear) what Onlive is all about and exactly how it works. This could definitely change the face of gaming forever, especially considering that gamers with cable connections will no longer need Steam, GamersGate or new PC hardware to play the latest gaming titles. Ah, I think I’m in love.

You can check out the video interview below for a complete rundown on the service operation for Onlive, or visit Gametrailers for the second-half of the interview. For more gaming news, insight and updates, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
