With Homefront: The Revolution set to launch next month, there's still time to get in your pre-order for the upcoming open-world shooter. If you do so, you'll get a bunch of in-game treats that might make your day-one purchase a little more exciting. We've also got details on a special edition of Homefront that includes a remote controlled car, just like the one used in the game.
Se to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC come May 17, Homefront: The Revolution will be available in multiple flavors. While the core game will cost you the usual $60 no matter where you get it from, your options when it comes to pre-ordering Homefront vary.
We haven't seen this sort of pre-order setup in a while, since gamers have started becoming more and more vocal about disliking making a purchase decision based on which extras the game comes with and where. It looks like Homefront will go all out, though, with a variety of goodies spread across multiple retailers.
No matter where you pre-order Homefront from, though, you're going to be guaranteed a “Revolutionary Spirit” pack, which includes a “Red Skull” skin for your bike, a gold skin for your pistol, as well early access to a trio of items for your co-op character, including a scope for your sniper rifle, a marksman rifle, as well as remote explosives. So, again, pre-order The Revolution anywhere and you'll get your hands on that digital swag.
There are additional bonuses, though, depending on if you pre-order Homefront at GameStop, Best Buy or Amazon.
Hit up GameStop and your early purchase will come with five Resistance Crates boasting random weapon blueprints, attachments and gear, as well as some Combat Stimulants to enhance your stats.
Pre-order from Best Buy and you'll also be getting a collector's steel book for the game.
Make your purchase on Amazon and you'll net yourself a “Wing Skull” pack, which includes a Wing Skull skin for your bike, as well as a silver pistol skin.
So, as you can see, nothing *ahem* revolutionary here, but you'll get something different depending on where you shop. You gamers in the UK haven't been forgotten, though. Pre-order from GAME and you'll get the exact same virtual additions as GameStop here in the States.
If, however, the standard game isn't enough for you, then you can also drop an additional $100 on the Goliath Edition of Homefront: The Revolution. That set includes the game, the pre-order DLC, an exclusive steel book for the game, a 32-page art book, a season pass for expansions, as well as a working Goliath Drone remote controlled car.
