We all hate how we buy a game, play it, hate it and then can't return it. The only alternative is trading the game in for about a eighth of its original price. SwitchGames has an alternative that allows gamers to "swap" instead of “trade” their old games. The company wanted to make it known that during the holiday season, instead of trading in a new game for $2 at a certain brick and mortar retailer; you can swap it for a fairer price or a newer game.

Jason Crawford, SwitchGames.com founder, commented in the press release, saying…
"The holidays always bring lots of new titles for gamers," … "Unfortunately, we don’t always get the games that we want for the consoles that we own. On SwitchGames.com, gamers will avoid getting ripped off with trade-in values this holiday season. Instead of trading in your copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for $24, and then buy a copy of Left 4 Dead 2 for $60, you can make that trade directly to another SwitchGames.com member for free.”

I don’t know about any of you, but if you have a working internet connection (and you’d need one to read this article) it seems a heck of a lot more convenient managing game trades via SwitchGames than GameStop. Add in the fact that SwitchGames also offers up a developer/publisher incentive from used game trades, and you have a company that resolves the used game sales dilemma for game companies and the buy/trade price scam for gamers.

Now that’s killing two birds with one stone. Be sure to visit the Official SwitchGames Website for more info on their trading/swapping policies and see if their business model works for you.
