Sega recently sent the word out that their prime-time first-person shooter for the Nintendo Wii has just gone gold. The game features Hollywood voice talent, loads of fast-paced action and an intriguing story plot.

According to the very brief press release, “A unique first-person shooter, The Conduit is an original IP featuring an intense conspiracy-laden single-player campaign that brings an unparalleled shooter experience exclusively to the Nintendo Wii”. There will also be gadgets to use and spy-tactics to employ. The game also contains some 12-player online action to round out the multiplayer experience.

Despite the generic descriptions, Sega feels that The Counduit could usher in some positive feedback from hardcore gamers. This is especially considering that Nintendo has very much abandoned the hardcore crowd. Of course, only time and a plethora of reviews will tell. Now that The Conduit has gone gold (meaning that development on the game is done and finished) it will be due out exclusively for the Nintendo Wii on June 23rd, in North America.
