Sega announced the pre-order bonus for Total War: Warhammer today. Some pre-order bonuses are fairly minor but in this game's case, you'll get an entire playable race.
Anyone who reserves a copy of Total War: Warhammer will get access to the Chaos Warriors Race Pack, which lets you command the forces of Chaos at launch:
The Chaos Warriors Race Pack includes three new playable Legendary Lords, enabling you to select the corrupted and powerful Chaos Warriors as your race in the Grand Campaign.
On the one hand, this seems like a sizable reward for players willing to pre-order. However, it does seem like they're deliberately withholding content from everyone else to boost their pre-order numbers. Everyone who would rather hold off on buying the game until reviews come in will presumably have to pay extra money for access to this race.
I suppose if you're a Total War and/or Warhammer superfan, though, you won't care. In that case, you might want to consider the High King Edition. This rare bundle's box is based on the Great Book of Grudges, a tome that details every time the dwarves were wronged. The High King Edition comes with the Chaos DLC along with the following collectibles:
In Total War: Warhammer, players lead very different factions vying for control of a medieval fantasy world. The factions available at launch (aside from Chaos) are the Empire, Greenskins, Dwarves and Vampires. Much like other Total War games developed by Creative Assembly, Warhammer is split between two phases. In the turn-based strategy half of the game, players build up their empire, engage in diplomacy and deploy their forces. When two armies clash, players lead their units in real-time battles.
Total War: Warhammer will launch on April 28, 2016 on PC, Mac and Linux.
