Two of the biggest publishers around seem poised to announce new projects. Each has filed US trademark applications for game titles.

Konami is attempting to trademark the title Neverdead. The mark applies to the following products: "Entertainment services, namely, providing computer games to video game machine, mobile phones and computers; providing online computer games via network between communications networks and computers; providing information to game players about the ranking of their scores of games through the web sites; providing information, images, music and/or sound regarding games; entertainment services, namely, arranging, organizing and conducting game tournaments"

Ubisoft's trademark application for the term Outland is a bit more targeted, suggesting an online-only game: "Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game for others over global and local area computer networks and providing information on-line relating to computer games, video games and computer and video games related products."

Not sure what to make of Neverdead. However, Outland is the name of a Space Western film from 1981 starring Sean Connery. It's actually in the process of being remade. Perhaps Ubisoft is handling the game adaptation of that remake? Gives me an image idea for the article, at any rate.
