To no one's surprise, Naughty Dog is developing a sequel to their highly successful and well-received PS3 shooter Uncharted 2. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is expected on the PS3 in fall 2011.

Uncharted 3 takes treasure hunter Nathan Drake to the Rub’ al Khali Desert. According to EW, he's searching for a lost city. Drake's relationship with his mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan will be a prominent part of the story. As the title suggests, there's going to be lots of deceit involved as well.

The game will make more extensive use of motion-capturing to enhance character's appearance. Improved backwards climbing and the ability to fight multiple baddies at once are some of the other features mentioned by the preview. Naughty Dog is also looking to enhance the online side.

“We want to take on the big boys of the multi-player genre,” said Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells told EW. “It has become something here at Naughty Dog that will become an important part to all our games.”

The first trailer for Drake's Deception is expected to air during the Spike Video Game Awards this weekend. A tweet from Jimmy Fallon indicates that the first live demo of the game will take place on Late Night on Monday.
