The speculation over World of Warcraft: Cataclysm's release date can finally draw to a close. Blizard officially announced today that the third expansion for WoW will be released on December 7th.

Cataclysm can be purchased on DVD for PC and Mac or digitally through the Blizzard Store. If StarCraft II's release is any indication, they'll let you pre-load the digital version before the launch date. Whether you go for the digital or boxed copy, it'll cost $39.99.

If you're looking to shell out extra money, you could also spend $79.99 on a Collector's Edition. It comes with an art book and copy of the game's soundtrack, among other things. You can pre-order it through select retailers.
