If you’re a fan of Blizzard’s immensely popular World of Warcraft then you might be interested in the upcoming, first ever FanCon for WoW that will take place in virtual space, featuring millions of fans, guest speakers, contests and more.

Brian Shuster, Utherverse founder and CEO commented in the press release about the convention, saying…
“World of Warcraft is the most popular online game, and we are the largest virtual-world company,” … “so it’s the perfect marriage. For the first time ever, millions of our users and millions of WoW players can come together and experience a massively multi-user online convention, for free, without leaving home. Virtual conventions like this one are the next killer app for the web, and Utherverse has been investing heavily to become the leader in this breakthrough trade-show concept.”

Utherverse was practically designed for virtual collaborations that hosts lots of users within a virtual space all at once. Earlier in the year Utherverse played host to an online-trade show, with virtual exhibitors and consumers coming out to see what was what. The exhibition garnered more than 5,000 attendees and generated a moderate profit for Utherverse and the exhibitions.

According to the press release, the World of Warcraft FanCon will feature guest speakers, trading exhibitions, guild recruitment and parties, as well as tournaments and contests.

The FanCon is not an official event from Blizzard but a convention made by fans for fans. If you’re interested in attending just remember that the convention takes place between October 7th and October 8th. You can visit the Official Utherverse Website to learn more about the virtual FanCon.
