On November 1st, Microsoft will be raising the price of Xbox Live Gold membership. The subscription hikes will affect the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

Here in the States, a one-month subscription will be jumping from $7.99 to $9.99. Three-month subscriptions will go from $19.99 to $24.99 and a year subscription is increasing from $49.99 to $59.99. The list of changes for other territories can be found at Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb's blog.

"Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We’re confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry," said Hryb.

Facebook, Twitter, and last.fm are among the services that have been added to Xbox Live recently. A streaming ESPN service will be coming to Xbox Live soon as well.
