Subscribe To Xbox Originals Set To Launch With Fall Update Updates
Soon you’ll be downloading Psychonauts to your Xbox 360. Nintendo’s Virtual Console gives fans access to generation’s worth of quality, and some sketchy, games to satiate any drought in releases. Then this summer Warhawk came to PS3 via a download. Now, Microsoft has decided to ramp up their robust downloadable games content with “Xbox Originals.” The LIVE Arcade has been a fantastic addition to the gaming landscape, but with the hard drive space we’ve been wondering when – or even if – MS would take the plunge and release larger titles for download.

Starting December 4th you’ll be able to download titles like Halo, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies and Fable directly to your 360. The new feature is the first confirmed aspect of the Fall Update, which we know nothing else about at the moment. We’re assuming all the games listed will be available day one, but what else may appear by the end of the year is still unclear. Personally, I encourage everyone to download Psychonauts for 1200 MS Points and learn first hand why Tim Schaffer is a genius.

In addition to this announcement, Microsoft has confirmed they will be offering a free download of Carcassonne to all members starting at 12:01 am EST on November 15th. The game will be available for 48 hours in celebration of LIVE’s fifth anniversary. Now I’m glad I never bought the game, even though half of my friends list was preoccupied with it upon release. In addition, the original people who have been a part of LIVE since 2002 will receive 500 MS Points.
