It's a big week on the Nintendo eShop, featuring classic characters and long-running franchises with Uncle Scrooge, Mario, Luigi and a metric ton of ancient Chinese rulers making their way to the Wii U and 3DS.

They say that life is like a hurricane, here in Duck Burg. With race cars, laser and aeroplanes, it's what you might call a “duck blur.” But in case you're too young to know what the heck I'm rambling on about, I'll just say it all cut and dry: DuckTales: Remastered is finally arriving, launching on the Nintendo Wii U eShop on Aug. 13.

A remastered version of the classic platforming adventure game, DuckTales: Remastered is an HD-ified recreation that once again puts the player back in control of Scrooge McDuck as he hops around the world visiting exotic locations, fights baddies and collects treasure. You'll run into loads of characters from the show along the way and even square off against some of the series' most notorious villains.

I had the opportunity to play DuckTales: Remastered during this year's E3 and, like I assume will happen to any child of the 80's and early 90's, I found myself grinning ear to ear. The visuals are lovely and all of the original voice acting and the soundtrack sound nice and crisp. The game still controls well, too. If you miss the platforming of old, this is certainly one you'll want to check out.

Also arriving on the Wii U eShop this week is perhaps one of the most disturbingly named games of all time, Spin the Bottle: Bumbie's Party. The game, oddly enough, works like the real version of spin the bottle, only instead of having to make out with your fellow players, you'll be tasking them with making silly faces, doing goofy acts, etc. Still, something about that name just gives me the willies.

The Wii U list for this week wraps up with a Virtual Console offering, Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire. You'll take on the role of a nation's ruler and manage your forces, drama, betrayals, intrigue and the like on a quest to expand your borders and keep your home safe.

For those of you gaming on the 3DS, this week marks the launch of Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, the latest RPG adventure featuring the mustachioed siblings. You can join Mario, Luigi, and all of their friends and enemies in the world of slumber come Aug. 11.

A trio of other games are also up for grabs on the 3DS eShop this week, including Smash Bowling 3D, Steam World Dig, and Tangram Style.
