Shooting stuff never gets old. They'll even be dong it in the future. For further proof of that fact, you'll want to check out Scourge: Outbreak. It arrives on Xbox Live July 3, offering up a squad-based third-person shooting experience in a cheaper downloadable package.

Microsoft may have turned the spotlight on their newest console, the Xbox One, yesterday, but that doesn't mean the Xbox 360 is dead in the water just yet. Plenty of new games are coming down the pipeline for the soon to be last-gen console, especially on the downloadable front.

Scourge: Outbreak comes from UFO Interactive Games, in partnership with Tragnarion Studios. Described as “raw and gritty” in the game's official announcement, Scourge: Outbreak “pits the veteran mercenaries of Echo Squad against their sworn enemies, the Nogari Corporation, in a desperate mission to rescue a double agent hidden behind enemy lines and to recover a mysterious meteorite fragment from Nogari's possession.”

So save the dude, still the space rock, shoot the Nogari? I think we can handle that.

Originally released for PC back in 2010 as The Scourge Project: Episode 1 & 2, this XBLA version of the game has seen a “massive overhaul” including new features and enhancements based on feedback from the original game. That includes new gameplay, a stronger narrative, smarter AI, better shooting and more.

Scourge: Outbreak offers up to four-player co-op with four playable characters to choose from, each with their own stats and abilities. You can also expect a bunch of customization options, leaderboards and the usual assortment of Achievements to unlock.

Look for Scourge: Outbreak when it launches worldwide on July 3 on XBLA for 800 MSP.
