Yes, it’s another movie-based game. You know what that means? It means that as a journalist I’m going to tell you that there’s hope this game could be good (viz., because for every movie-based game that’s ever released I say the same thing). I will, however, admit that this game may have a better chance at doing well on the market only because it sounds like an RPG for the Nintendo DS.

Tales of Despereaux follows the likes of a little mouse in the kingdom of Dor. The actual story is as generic as the simple save-the-princess-while-avoiding-danger formulae. But that aside, the gameplay allows players to interact with different characters while taking the pint-sized hero through a prodigious world that resembles the likes of Pixar’s Ratatouille. The game is due out with the movie this November. You can look for the game to arrive on the Xbox 360, Wii, PC and PS2. Sorry PS3 owners, your console just doesn’t have a large enough installed base.
