Nobody is saying whether or not Al Pacino’s famous line as Tony Montana from the movie Scarface (“first you get the money, then you get the power”) inspired the title or not, but rapper 50 Cent’s new MTV series wants you to share the wealth.

On his new reality show 50 Cent: The Money and the Power, which premieres for MTV on Thursday, November 6th at 10pm ET/PT, the hip hop performer reveals the secrets of his rise from a street hustler to one of the most successful rappers and entrepreneurs in music today. In an interesting new twist on the reality television model, the enterprising rap star also promises to give one winner a chance to prove himself worthy of 50’s support. That winner will receive a $100,000 investment from the rap star to start his own business venture, and become a “mogul” just like 50 himself.

Think of it as hip hop meets The Appentice. The show will also feature guest appearances by such personalities as fellow rap star LL Cool J and Aubrey O’Day of Danity Kane.

50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) was the top earning rapper in 2007, earning $150 million, according to Forbes magazine. In addition to his albums, concert tours, and record label (G-Unit Records), 50 Cent has diversified his business portfolio to include several entrepreneurial ventures, including videogames, books, clothing, footwear, beverages, personal care products and more.

50 Cent’s new album Before I Self Destruct, which reunites the rapper with both Enimem and Dr. Dre, comes out on December 9, 2008. 50 Cent also has a book in the works called “The 50th Law,” co-authored with Robert Greene ("The 48 Laws of Power"). As with the TV show, 50 Cent promises to share his secrets of success in the forthcoming book.

50 Cent: The Money and the Power premieres on MTV Thursday, November 6th at 10pm ET/PT. Check local listings.
