Pixies bassist Kim Deal is back with her longtime side project, The Breeders, and she’s announced an upcoming tour to help support the band’s first release in more than a half decade. After the Pixies’ tumultuous breakup, Kim hired her sister Kelley and two seasoned musicians to produce a new record Pod. The CD found moderate success, but its follow-up, 1993's Last Splash, captivated a wider audience after the quirky single “Cannonball” caught on. Then Kelley entered rehab, and a long hiatus followed.

According to NME, the band will embark on a lengthy tour, beginning with a performance at California’s famed music festival Coachella. This is actually one 90s group I would love to see. Kim Deal is super hot in a weird, eccentric chick way, and their music isn’t anything to scoff at either.
