Typically parody work doesn’t get much attention unless it bears the name “Weird” Al Yankovic. While Al is definitely the master of crafting skillful parodies, he’s not the only artist out there, as Doctor Demento still shows on a weekly basis.

Now I don’t know if the good Doctor has found this song yet (I, myself only found it on Friday), but this is one of the best parodies I’ve heard since “White and Nerdy”. It’s a parody to Top-40 song “Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White Ts. Parody artist Robert Lund heard about the real Delilah and the notion that the inspiration for the hit song not only wasn’t in a relationship with Tom Higgenson, but wasn’t even interested in one. To him, the song begged for a parody response: “Re: Your Song About My Client Delilah.”

You can check out the song online at thefump.com, a funny music project created by some of the best comedy musicians around. It’s available for a free low-quality download or a higher quality sound for only .99, just like iTunes.

If you like what you hear, and you live in a Demento-radio area, you might even want to send in a request. Lund’s song is hilarious and deserves some attention.
