I'm not sure anyone was expecting to get this much delight out of The Informant, Steven Soderbergh's corporate intrigue movie starring Matt Damon as a real-life guy who blew the whistle on illegal practices among giant corporations. It started with the out-of-nowhere trailer, which added an exclamation mark to the title and made the whole thing seem like an amateur Ocean's Eleven-style caper.

Now there's a new poster, which is a complete visual departure from the look of the trailer, but has panache and excitement all its own. Available in full-size version at Yahoo! Movies, the new poster boasts a Saul Bass-inspired silhouette of Damon's character, Mark Whitacre, seemingly blowing a raspberry at the viewer, while Damon stands superhero-style below. It's hilarious. And, much to my surprise, the movie is coming out in September, whereas I thought we were going to have to wait until December for this one. Check out the poster below, and tell me this doesn't ramp up your excitement.
