Geoffrey Fletcher is just coming off a surprise Oscar win for his Precious screenplay, but he's not wasting any time before adding to his list of achievements. Showbiz 411 is reporting that Carey Mulligan and Saiorse Ronan are likely to star in Fletcher's original screenplay Violet & Daisy, and Fletcher plans to direct the screenplay as well.

Described as "Thelma and Louise meets Superbad and Pulp Fiction"-- if you can even imagine such a combination-- the movie will be produced by Forrest Gump's Wendy Finerman, with more producers presumably to come. All of this is essentially just party gossip, of course, but Friedman usually knows what he's talking about in these matters, and the project is probably real if not necessarily happening any time soon. With Ronan currently filming all over the world as a teen assassin in Hanna, she'll probably be well prepared for whatever Fletcher is about to throw her way. After watching Carey Mulligan study her butt off in An Education, aren't you ready to see her kick a little ass as well?
