Here's a fun fact: Apollo 18 might have opened at number three and only taken in $8 million at the box office in its opening weekend, but that was actually $3 million more than it needed to make back its budget. Now in its fourth week of release, the movie has made more than four times its cost internationally. Much in the same way that networks love reality television, studios go gaga over found footage movies because it's almost impossible for them to not make their money back and when they're successful profit margins go through the roof. Hence why next month we'll be seeing our third Paranormal Activity movie.

Paramount has sent out three clips from the new horror film to STYD, Dread Central and Bloody Disgusting. Check them out below.

Directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, the directors of last year's hit documentary Catfish, the second sequel is a prequel to the previous two movies. The movie is set in 1988 when Katie and Kristi were both still kids and they have their first encounter with the demon that would later haunt them as adults. Paranormal Activity 3 will hit theaters on October 21. For more about the film, including news, images, posters and trailers, be sure to head over to our Blend Film Database.
