Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away Blu-ray Clip Gets Excited About 3D

James Cameron is a huge fan of 3D and its possibilities on the big screen, as well as home televisions. It’s no surprise he signed on as an executive producer for Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away, a 3D film that follows a love story through time and space as a couple who lock eyes are dreamily shuffled through famous Cirque du Soleil landscapes. The film hits 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 12 (which is next week, for those of you having trouble keeping track of dates) and now Paramount Home Entertainment has put together a behind-the-scenes clip from the flick, for fans to see how the 3D vision was accomplished.

The Cirque crowd has been putting together some fanciful and truly strange movies for years, but this time around, they had Cameron to help them get invested in the potential of the 3D. In the clip, we hear Cameron as well as director Andrew Adamson discuss the possibilities of shooting in 3D as well as taking other chances with the filmmaking that enhanced the visuals for audiences. Cameron may have a vested interest in 3D technology, but I can’t think of a better medium for the technology than bringing a Cirque world to life.

Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away will be available in several combo packs as well as a standard DVD format. Blu-ray copies will also come with several extras, including a “Making of” segment and a second featurette following the film’s lead, Mia, played by Erica Linz. Additionally, fans who purchase a copy of the film will receive 20% off certain live Cirque du Soleil shows with the purchase of a copy of the film, which is actually a pretty good deal for fans, since those shows can be quite expensive.

You can pre-order the flick over at Amazon.
