The apocalypse-tinged romance Seeking A Friend At The End Of The World already has a motley cast assembled, with Steve Carell and Keira Knightley in the central roles and Adam Brody, Rob Corddry and William Peterson already set to round them out. Now the cast has gotten even bigger and more unexpected-- THR reports that Community's Gillian Jacobs has also joined, playing a waitress tripping on Ecstasy who Carell and Knightley meet on a road trip to find Carell's lost love.

It will be the first major film role Jacobs has taken on since Community became a breakout hit on NBC-- OK, maybe not a hit in the ratings, but definitely the one show my friends cannot stop talking about, and that has to count for something. The role sounds fairly small but also fun, possibly allowing Jacobs to break out of the frigid box that playing Britta sometimes creates for her. Plus, and I don't know about you guys, but hearing about actors from TV shows I love taking on film roles helps soften the blow of those shows not coming back for a few months.
