Steven Spielberg was absent from the Emmys on Sunday, despite snagging a Best Miniseries trophy for The Pacific, because he's off in England shooting War Horse, which is the movie nobody thought he would make when he was circling around the Lincoln biopic and Harvey remake nonstop. It's an adaptation of a children's book by Michael Morpurgo, about a horse drafted for battle in World War I and the boy who enlists to find his beloved animal.

Newcomer Jeremy Irvine is set to play the boy, with Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Stephen Graham, Benedict Cumberbatch and Thor's Loki himself Tom Hiddleston rounding out the adult cast. A Collider reader sent along some photos from the set in Meavy, England, and--shocker!-- they feature a guy riding a horse. If you want to see Spielberg in action and a lot of people surrounding a kid in period clothing on a horse, though, take a look at two of the images below and click on 'em for Collider's full collection. Hopefully this is just a preview of some more intriguing images to come down the line.
