Our universe is always expanding. There are millions of things on this planet alone that we don't understand and can't explain. Yet, at the same time, we demand that the movies we watch, we demand that everything we see has a reason for being there. Director Quentin Dupieux, however, had a different goal when he wrote and directed Rubber. He has made a film entirely devoid of reason.

Apple has posted the first trailer for Dupieux's film, which centers on a tire named Robert who wakes up in the middle of the desert and discovers that he has psychic powers. Rolling around the country side, Robert decides to blow up anything he feels like blowing up, with the police right on his tail. The film stars Stephen Spinella, Roxane Mesquida, Jack Plotnick, and Wings Hauser and will be available On Demand February 25 and will get a limited release on April 1.

I actually had the immense pleasure of getting to see Rubber back in November during AFI Fest, and no matter how weird you think this movie is, I can 100% guarantee that it is weirder. Packed with non sequiturs and what can only be described as a nihilistic comedic sensibility, I really enjoyed the film and can recommend it for when it comes out.
