If you've been paying attention to all of Katey Rich's awesome Sundance Film Festival coverage you are aware that this year's lineup put on quite a show. While they weren't all winners, more than 30 films from the festival have been picked up for distribution and now one of the more popular movies from the festival has a trailer.
Apple has released the first preview for Tom McCarthy's Win Win. The film stars Paul Giamatti and Amy Ryan find themselves guardian of a teenager (newcomer Alex Shaffer) whose mother has been checked into a rehab clinic. What they soon find out, though, is that he is actually an incredible wrestler, but things immediately start going to hell when the kid's mother returns.
Check out the trailer below or in HD over at Apple.
Before watching the trailer I was preparing myself for The Blind Side 2, but I must say that I was actually surprised by this trailer. While it may have a similar storyline to the Sandra Bullock film, this one decides to avoid all of the Lifetime Channel bullshit and lines like, "You're changing that boy's life." Instead we get a movie that takes the premise far less seriously and plays it for comedy, with an appearance by the always great Jeffrey Tambor and a request by Amy Ryan to cross state borders in order to beat the crap out of someone. This will be one to check out when it hits theaters March 18. To read more about Win Win, head on over to our Blend Film Database
