Flixster Lets Comic-Con Attendees Tweet Their Way To Free UltraViolet Movies
One of the best parts of Comic-Con is the swag. Simply by walking across the mammoth dealer's floor -- a task that can take upwards of half an hour if the crowd's at its thickest -- will have people shoving freebies of every sort at you. Comics. Posters. T-shirts. Well, the folks at Flixster are taking it up a notch this year by giving away free digital copies of movies such as Mars Attacks!, Mortal Kombat, and Austin Powers via Warner Bros.' digital UltraViolet service. All you have to do to get them is tweet.
Here's how it works: starting today and through Sunday, Comic-Con attendees can swing by the DC Entertainment booth (#1915) to see special hashtags displays. The hashtags will also be on posters inside the "Batcave" near the "Extra at Comic-Con" stage. Once you spot one of the hashtags, you can tweet it and you will then receive a direct message from @Flixster with instructions on how to download your movie. They'll be changing the hashtags out over the course of the con, so you can tweet different ones for different movies. Based on the press release it sounds like you can get copies of more than one of the movies, although they do include the proviso that quantities are limited. You'll also have to sign up for a Flixster and UltraViolet account if you don't already have them.
If you're at Con this week, you also might want to check out the free movie screenings is hosting, all airing at the "Extra at Comic-Con Stage." Here's the full screening schedule:
