Production has commenced already for Jee-woon Kim’s The Last Stand, but it looks like they’re putting the finishing touches to what has shaped up to be a pretty great looking cast. Joining The Last Stand is Genesis Rodriguez, whose recent roles included a part on Entourage, and the upcoming Asger Leth film Man on a Ledge.

The Last Stand follows a drug cartel leader who escapes police custody and makes a break for the border, heading straight for Mexico. Standing in his way is a sleepy town, which is guarded by a sheriff and a staff of people who may not be the most experience with stopping a fugitive. With a cast that includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jaimie Alexander, Forest Whitaker, Rodrigo Santoro, Johnny Knoxville, Harry Dean Stanton, and Friday Night Lights Zach Gilford, there are plenty of reasons to hope this film turns out to be a winner.

According to Variety, Genesis Rodriguez is set to play an FBI agent whose partner is played by Rodrigo Santoro. That sounds like one dreamy looking partnership. Rodriguez’ name isn’t exactly widely known yet, but as Variety notes, in addition to Summit’s Man on a Ledge, she also has Lionsgate’s What to Expect when You’re Expecting coming up, as well as Casa de mi Padre, which will star Will Ferrell. So while we may not know her yet, it sounds like we might come next year.
