The already star studded cast of The Muppets may be about to get even more glamorous. Kermit and the gang have always been cameo friendly, it’s a big part of the fun in their older movies, and the new one is happily following that pattern. Jason Segel is already set to star with Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and Rashida Jones involved somehow. Now add to the host of other possible cameos we’ve already told you about the names Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and George Clooney. That’s right, George Clooney.

THR announced the first four and says they’re being “courted” for parts in the movie. But it’s What’s Playing that says Clooney’s cameo will depend on whether he can find time in his schedule. The scene he’s slated for would have George playing himself at a fictional film premiere for Michael Clayton 2 (most unlikely sequel ever) where he’d be interviewed by different Muppets.

It seems like a perfect fit really. Clooney’s kind of like a modern day Kermit, except without the insatiable appetite for flies. They belong together on film.
