The rumor that hit late last week about Guy Pearce potentially having a role in Prometheus turns out to be dead-on; The Playlist has confirmed through his reps that Pearce will in fact be in the movie, though they weren't able to learn what his role will be or how long he'll be part of the production that's already underway in London.

It's probably obvious by now that director Ridley Scott is succeeding in his goal to keep nearly everything about this movie under wraps-- despite the occasional rumors about the space jockey or xenomorphs, we know pretty much nothing about the film beyond that it's set in the same world as the Alien movies and is set in outer space. Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba are among the main cast members, and the script comes from Damon Lindelof. Beyond there any guess you can come up with is as good as mine, but with production already underway and presumably not many more actors left to be added to the cast, why don't we just hang tight to see the facts for ourselves? The movie is just over a year away, due in theaters on June 8, 2012.
