Adam Green’s 2006 slasher flick Hatchet was just about the most fun you could have watching a horror movie. It hit all the right notes and didn’t take itself too seriously, all while being a special effects masterpiece with some of the sharpest dialog to ever make it into the genre.

The premiere of Green’s follow up, aptly titled Hatchet 2, at London’s Fright Fest is fast approaching and the folks over at Blogomatic3000 dug up two images from the film. A who’s who of horror legends, the sequel touts Candyman himself Tony Todd as second billed instead of just a side character, seen below. Also adding to the cast is Danielle Harris, who you’ll recognize from the recent Rob Zombie Halloween flicks. The actress came on board after Tamara Feldman refused to return in her role as Marybeth.

Hatchet 2 premieres August 26th in London and will cross to our side of the pond in October. Check out the images below.

Also provided was this official synopsis:

Picking up right where the original ended, Marybeth escapes the clutches of the deformed, swamp-dwelling iconic killer Victor Crowley. After learning the truth about her family’s connection to the hatchet-wielding madman, Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact the bloodiest revenge against the bayou butcher.
