The original Ghostbusters cast has been milling around for awhile now teasing the possibility of a third entry in the franchise. While it seems likely that most of the cast, even Bill Murray, might be on board with doing it one of the big questions hanging in the air around it is who they’d get to direct.

Ivan Reitman directed both 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters II, but rumor had it that he was pretty disinterested in directing another one. Word was for awhile that the job might go to Jake Kasdan, but now it sounds like it could be Reitman in charge after all.

Bloody-Disgusting says that they’ve been able to confirm Reitman is attached to direct Ghostbusters III. Except they make that statement with this extremely strange caveat: “While he's attached, the word is that he hasn't decided whether or not he really wants to direct, yet.” Doesn’t sound like he’s all that attached to me.

Still they do offer new info on what the third film could be about. According to BD’s sources the new sequel has the old crew re-opening their ghost removal service after an extended period out of business.
