Though he's only made two films, Rian Johnson has quickly shown a knack for attracting top-tier talent. His debut, Brick, attracted the likes of Joseph Gordon Levitt, Lukas Haas, and Emilie de Ravin, and he landed Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel Weisz and Robbie Coltrane for The Brothers Bloom. His next film, Looper, is already packed to the gills with the likes of Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Paul Dano and the return of Gordon Levitt, but Johnson's not done yet.

Variety reports that Jeff Daniels, Piper Perabo and Noah Segan have joined the cast of the director's upcoming sci-fi action film. Though Perabo and Daniels are new to working with Johnson, this will be Segan's third time working with the filmmaker, after playing the burnout Dode in Brick and having a small cameo at the beginning of Brothers Bloom. Set in China, the film is about hitmen who travel through time to kill their marks. The film is scheduled to begin filming later this month.

Johnson has proven with his first two features that he's an exceptionally talented filmmaker and if this one isn't already on your "Most Anticipated" list for 2012, it really should be. Did I mention that this will be the second time Gordon Levitt has worked with Daniels after the incredibly underseen The Lookout? Run, don't walk.
