Last summer I was assigned to screen and review Ramona and Beezus, an adaptation of Beverly Cleary's beloved novels. While I ended up not really liking the movie as a whole, I made special notice of Joey King in my review, who I saw as a child actor filled to the brim with charisma and destined to do great things. Turns out that she is well on her way. On Friday it was announced that the young actress will play a part in Christoper Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises and now she's landed yet another highly coveted role.

Variety reports that King will play China Girl in Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great And Powerful. In the story, the character, who is made entirely of porcelain, sees her entire family destroyed by the evil witch Evanora (played by Rachel Weisz). Feeling sorry for her, Oz (James Franco) takes her under his wing and becomes a surrogate father. While the movie is scheduled to begin filming in July, don't expect to see it any time soon as it was revealed this morning that the film will be released on March 8, 2013. The film also stars Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams.

At only 11 years old King has already completed filming nine feature films, four television movies and has appeared on seven TV shows. Guess that in addition to being talented she has an awesome agent.
